We are not a shot to win this year...never were.

We are a group of talented young guys that are in the process of growing into a premiership contending team. I believe we will get there, but so far we are a group of impatient, impetuous flat track bullies that have a LOT of growing to do.

It is a process which includes disappointment and pain with it's joy and excitement...we will get there...100%, but it won't be this year and probably the next.

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, and this group need to get a LOT stronger than they are now...and they will.

Des blowing fuses left right and center.

I highly doubt Des has been blowing any fuses at all. They all know what they did wrong and he has probably left them to accept and own it for a couple of days...then start the process of remedying and atoning for it.

We should be proud of this team …. Look at the kids that have stepped up this year rather than bagging them.

I’m not sure I could play Harper against the storm or even Penrith. Maybe he’s not a big game player. Every one is entitled to a shocker or two now and again but the biggest game of your career is not the time or place for it.. Hopefully he can prove me wrong and kill it in the next one..

Seriously in 2019 we weren't far off going deep into the finals and that was without Tom. This team has alot more promise just need the expierence and that comes with playing finals footy. There is still 1 game at least this yr and get there next yr along with getting another couple of signings and we will be there IMO.

I don't know about that @Mark from Brisbane. Imagine if we put in a massive effort , bashed each other senseless, fatigued to the point of collapse and still lose but by 2 points. Then I'd say we were shot ducks. Now they have anger in them after that sht performance, everybody writing them off , Des blowing fuses left right and center. Now they have more incentive than ever to right that horrendous performance.

Exactly, if we lost while playing to our full potential then that would be worse. The players know they can improve.

Still think we aren't that far off contesting a GF. Last night was a good reminder to all of them that they need to go up a gear in effort and execution come finals time.

I don’t think we should underestimate the juice that’s gone into making the top 4 after losing our first 4 games. It’s meant we’ve had to be up and at our best consistently and the lack of enthusiasm last night probably says it’s been a long season; particularly for the young guys.

Agree, Harper’s defence is better than those two but it’s the sum of the parts.
Guac, Chez, Harper (and Saab) didn’t have their happiest games defensively last night.
It doesn’t really matter if you swap out one and they still disconnect

If we aren’t contending in the next 1-2 years we won’t be contending in 3-5. The squad we have at the moment are building into a squad that should be challenging in 2022/2023 with DCE still steering the ship.
