No end in sight

C’mon… if you really wanna play pro footy that badly, you take the chance that is given (let alone the dozen different opportunities). How many kids have we seen do exactly that with their one or two limited chances? I’m constantly impressed by various newbies putting in and standing up in a game when given the chance. Weekes farrrkkked it big time, IMO. Doesn’t mean he won’t come good long term, but I have no problem with Manly letting him go when they did.
Enlighten me? Which players are you referring too?

A bloke called strange
Seriously mate, if Weekes was that good a 5/8 I think sticky would pick up on it. Scratching my memory Schuster was the next 5/8 when we released weekes, or maybe we already signed Brooks, but seems weekes was always a fullback regardless of team.

In my opinion manly have the best outside backs in the comp. Brooks has plenty to work with.We also had somewhat of a successful year. Much more than Canberra. There is so much more than what goes into these stats you mention. Or what helps equate to them.

I think people are missing my point lol...
All good mate

I’m often watching games and listening to players in other teams I have never heard of, turning up and doing some great stuff. I would need to sit down and do a bit of research to give you actual names, TBH. Bostock is one that comes to mind off the top of my head, let along Strange himself whom you mentioned. Even the rugby convert for the Rorters has been decent. Shibasaki (though no rookie) has stood up for the donkeys and impressed. De Groot for the Titans has grabbed my attention at times… Players with limited opportunity initially, but made a fist of it.

Ok cool. Bostock has been in and out of the dolphins for a cpl of years now. He has only really hit his straps this year in fairness. Strange was given nearly a whole year at 6 last year and sticky is getting dividends from it now. The waga dude whatever is name is lol.. was a wallaby and I agree doing well. But obviously good stock as a wallaby. De Groot for me, verdict is still out, but maybe only getting a run coz foran is injured then Campbell goes back to fullback potentially? Nevertheless de Groot is getting game time there. Good for his development.

Yeah, but Strange was given a year because he was showing enough to warrant it. Weekes didn’t show enough. All of these guys are getting opportunities because they stepped up and showed enough to earn it. Weekes didn’t, in my personal opinion.

That's fair enough. At the end of the day it is what it is. I only remember weekes getting the one game at six but. My initial point isn't that I think weekes is a world beater. It's more around the point, I think 1-7 we have one of.. if not the best backlines in the comp. But because of it we are very weak in the forwards. We could of persisted with weekes persay for half the price of brooks and invested that into areas we need strengthening. Just my way of thinking. No rights or wrongs

Ok, I just needed a little rant this evening about a few things.

Saab is exciting and we all love his pace… but, the guy is a major soft cokk. He is so farrrkkking soft, and his hands, catching bombs, are buttery soft.

DCE is a self-centred git. He has squeezed every cent out of this club that he could to support his ego.

Turbo is fragile. I love the guy and his passion, but he is completely unreliable porcelain.

Jake bleeds Manly, but plays Tiger-level these days.

Carrot belongs on the wing and not the centres. Does an ok job there and is learning, but he is a more than good winger.

The forward pack is a hodge-podge of weak-ass nobodies that are one of the worst packs in the NRL, IMO.

Ok, I’m sorry. Done.
