The "media" and "marketing" departments MUST walk hand in hand to be effective in todays buisiness climate. This is not happening at Manly.

Take a look at NFL teams or closer to home at the Broncos and Parra.

The model they use is working VERY well.

Under the radar=missed oportunities,exposure and fan satisfaction.IMHO.

Funny also that most posts here concerning the office are right and wrong.

Maybe ask the boys for clarification on those points and they may give you the info you seek.

On the NFL how good is the series "america's game"

Wow that would be great for the NRL to follow

One of the biggest things that has lead to the NFL's widespread popularity is NFL Films & subsequently the NFL Network. I very much doubt that the NRL has the kind of initiative to even start something remotely similar to that though, it's much easier to bury a couple of videos recorded with a hand held camera in the depth of NRL.com every month or so.

The problems start at the top. No NRL clubs are really that professional, the ones that are doing better are just made to look that way given how poor the competiton is. I can't see anything changing until the NRL itself becomes more professional though.

Noticeable they have not turned around and put their name back on the shirts and then tried to make out their sponsorship is philanthropic, like the old man did.

Not yet anyway.

Oh do people remember that Bunnies have a new sponsor, Star City? Well now the Storm have the Crown casino as a sponsor.....hmmmm perhaps Manly might consider looking for a Casino sponsor? nah....

I'd like to think that Manly could do better than hang their hat on casinos.  I'd like to think we could attract a multinational company, airline, car company, bank, or some such.  I like the way English Premier sides only seem to have a major sponsor rather than the names of companies tacked onto every piece of clothing that players wear onto the field.  It would be interesting to see just who is being approached and what sort of positive spin is being talked about.  We are the premier club in the competition, with a proud history of achievement, silvertails no less.  Surely an organization with the same view of themselves would be interested.

Most successful EPL sides are privately owned by a very generous benefactor who is not expecting a return. They don't need to plaster everything with sponsors. Kinda like Big Rusty, only richer and with better personalities.

Most of these successful companies to which you refer DSM are not trying to target the RL demographic. The only multinational interested in tapping into the average RL fans wallet is McDonalds or KFC.

Give the man credit. Look how far he travelled just to place a membership flyer on that cars windscreen!

This picture should slience the Lowe knockers now.

Lets be fair, it's about 1,000 degrees, and the mans wearing strides. Those 50 meters to his own car would have been like running a marathon.
