MANLY demolished a woeful Cronulla 40-12 at Brookvale Oval yesterday but the Sea Eagles' thoughts were soon 1000km away. Within minutes of fulltime yesterday, Manly were speaking about next Monday night's blockbuster against Melbourne Storm at Etihad Stadium.

it did seem like we were just cruising in the second half trying to save as much as possible for the drizzle

We are not going to get gifted field position and possession against the Storm. Cronulla were pretty bloody ordinary yesterday and never really built any pressure, save for the first 15 minutes or so. The Storm will be at us for 80 minutes and we will need to be prepared to work very hard this week and keep intensity up for the whole game. We can also expect that the Storms defence will be a little stiffer than the Sharks, we can't expect to score some of the tries that Cronulla let through.

This is the start of a month long run that will really let us see where we stand. Melb followed by Gold Coast, Souths and Dragons.

Rather than being worried I'm looking forward to seeing what we've got. Melb will put a lot of pressure on our young halves pairing - it'll be a great test for them.
