News: Inside Manly's night from hell

<p>DES Hasler stood in the sunshine outside Manly Wharf Bar and removed his black suit jacket. "Geez, I'm warm," he grinned. "That's one problem with coming home from England I guess . . . I'm really feeling the heat." If only Hasler knew what was happening as he soaked up the sunshine last Friday afternoon. Standing happily outside the Manly watering hole to talk World Club Challenges, Wolfman injuries and the prospect of a 2009 premiership defence. Hasler was talking as back inside, his Sea Eagles club was falling apart. So how does an innocuous club launch forever change the NRL landscape? How does it rock the defending premiers, ruin a $1.5 million marketing campaign and have Kangaroo pin-up Brett Stewart facing sexual assault allegations? This was an event where everyone was supposed to start over. </p>
