Also this bit of upgrade news about Brookie in the main news section of the Manly Daily:

UPGRADES to Brookvale Oval, South Curl Curl rock pool and progress on the Narrabeen Lagoon pathway are among the projects included in Warringah Council’s 2010-11 draft budget.

In total council will spend $166 million over the next financial year. Of that $35.9 million will be put towards vital capital works projects, including $27.1 million on asset renewal.

One of the major expenses will see $3 million spent on stage-two upgrades of Brookvale Oval.

The work is expected to include roof renewals of the three stands, CCTV and reshaping the northern and eastern hills to improve access and patron safety.
