Mrs Fluffy is on a well known Sydney Council and is in it for the right reasons. That is probably the 'raw nerve'.

I sensed that from Dan's last email CW, Mrs Fluffy may be the exception.

Personal experience tell me first hand that anyone on council or working for them are either failed at a higher level or in private enterprise. They then use council to take their frustrations out on the general public. Council employees or councillors there for the genuine good of the public are very few and far between. And trust me I know this first hand in my day to day dealings with Council staff and Councillors, don’t put your faith in them, please......

Though I also agree with QldEagle however I have also experienced that there are a few of them out there that are in it for the right reason unfortunately there’s not enough of them around that can bring about change.

I make no apologies that I absolutely loath greenies – BASTARDS put me through hell not to mention $$$ because of one non native tree smack bang in the middle of the block and I was supposed to build around it. It really came down to the next door neighbours knowing the Executive Manager, Planning Division and not wanting my development to go ahead, corruption in the highest of the highest forms.

We only need two levels of government Federal/State and even that can all be run out of Canberra when you come down to it however this is a Silvertails RL forum not a politics forum so let’s close the subject.

In my opinion if you aren't corrupt before you become a counciller, by the time you leave you will be in some way shape or form.

Sorry Fluffy, there aren't that many white nights around, and to think Hope will go through her political career without at some stage pushing a personal agenda is just naive.

Nothing against her or you, and nothing against her character, its just one of those facts of life and human behaviour.

Dan

Pushing a personal agenda is not corruption.

It is impossible for anyone to be in politics without pushing an agenda that will personally effect them.

Its pushing the agendas which are not personal where corruption comes in.

So far its 12 months and the only benefits we see is getting the occasional official invite as VIP's to some events and the free sangas at the end of council meetings.

The closest thing to corrupt was a vote on a DA on a block of land that had links to the employer of Hope, about 5 years before she started there whilst she was still at uni and something she knew nothing about. It was thrown out straight away, with heavy laughter

I vote Green after giving my first preference to Socialist Workers Party, Socialist Alliance or any left party.  At least they're not in the developer's pockets.

I thought I saw you handing out socialist party flyers on King St last week.

Its not coruption if everyne knows about it.

kinda a contradiction but it is true.

I doubt Mata will agree with you there. The affairs in Dubbo are known by everyone and it doesn't change what it is.

It was more focused on the first stage of corruption where noone knows about it, then once it becomes public, it is more known and the corruption stops fpr that event.

Either way Fluffy needs to get off his high horse and realise that councils, in Australia are almost universally hated for the crap that they put out and do.

I pay $2000+ in rates and what do i get. A big concrete sign at Nickenbah that says "Welcome to Hervey Bay" and a council that doesn't want to do anything in each town, because they dont want to appear to be favouring one area of the Fraser Coast over another.

The crap that we went through with Warringah council was a joke, and no-one in my family will ever forgive the scumbags.

You are fighting a losing battle and only kidding yourself Fluffy

I told you free sandwiches - corruption still at play, just doesn't involve money, sex or free gifts.

And VIP invites to some event's there's another name we give them - JUNKETS

So Fluffy - You still haven't answered if you would still have a beer with me even with our differing views. Could get the missus to put it on her expenses account  ;)

WARRINGAH Council will hold an extraordinary meeting next Tuesday to discuss how the council should proceed with a review into options for Brookvale Oval.

On Tuesday this week the council spent 2 1/2 hours debating the issue without reaching a conclusion.

The councillors are divided as to how much research into previous proposals should be done before a community consultation process begins in early 2010.

The council will also consider two items it ran out of time to discuss at this week’s meeting.
