April 08, 2009
Manly centre Jamie Lyon has reportedly failed in his bid to be made exempt from selection in this year's representative rugby league teams.

A report in this week's Rugby League Week claims Lyon will be stood down from playing for Manly if he refuses to play in any representative teams he is selected in.

Lyon informally stood down from selection in 2008 when he told NSW coach Craig Bellamy he was not interested in turning out for the Blues.

The former Test star is currently sidelined with a knee injury but has been named by coach Des Hasler to play in Sunday's home game against Wests Tigers.
