NSW rugby official Pat Wilson will be installed as Manly's new chief executive officer tomorrow after beating a formidable field to win the post.

The Waratahs general manager (com mercial and community rugby) returned from NSW's trip to Wellington yesterday to tender his resignation.

Neither Wilson or Manly officials would confirm the appointment but The Manly Daily understands an announcement will be made tomorrow.

Wilson, known to friends as ``Jockey'', lives at Harbord and is married with three children.

He played first grade rugby with Manly in the 1980s and is a lifelong Sea Eagles fan.

Wilson beat 62 applicants for the $200,000 a year CEO's job, left vacant by Paul Cummings.

Cummings will replace outgoing chair man Joe Cross.

Meanwhile, Manly coach Des Hasler admitted his team ``played poorly'' in their 26-point defeat against the Dragons on Saturday night at WIN Stadium.

``We just made far too many errors and turned over far too much ball,'' he said.

``It's really important that we bounce back against the Raiders (next Sunday).

``We were just poor in some areas and we'll fix it.

``No one likes losing.''

Hooker Chad Randall said the loss was a reality check after the Sea Eagles' undefeated start to the season.

``The pressure is off us a little bit,'' he said.

``We had so much media hype around us.

``We might just worry about playing footy now and not about having so many cameras at training. We'll be right next week.''

Meanwhile Manly lock Ben Kennedy was yesterday named in Australia's 23-man preliminary squad for this month's Anzac Test against New Zealand. The 17-man squad will be named on Sunday.

Maybe we are looking to get into the north shore a bit.

Sounds like he should have plenty of contacts

It will be interesting to see what "corporate support" he can bring to the club. Godd luck to him we need him to deliver the goods.

He is a good choice. Manly is more of a rugby demographic than any other NRL club has. He will have contacts, no doubt about it.

Lets hope the contacts are in the Corporate World with very deep and generous pockets. We don't want to be relying on Max for too long.
