Probably his manager fishing for an upgrade but would take him with no hesitation... big unit and is a great finisher.

Papua New Guinean international Nene Macdonald's allegiance are with St George Illawarra for next season and indicated he wants to remain at the club beyond 2019.

Macdonald, who was born in Port Moresby and raised in Cairns, had been linked with a return to North Queensland to join the Cowboys but the 24-year-old said he did not want to leave the Dragons.

After previous stints with Sydney Roosters and Gold Coast Titans, Macdonald has been enjoying his best season in the Telstra Premiership and said he was settled at St George Illawarra.

The Townsville Bulletin is saying that MacDonald is on the verge of signing with the Cowboys.... apparently he is from up that way.

The Mole is "reporting" Nene MacDonald is on the outer with the Dragons... surely he's the sort of winger Manly could use. So, we no doubt aren't remotely interested.

Too busy interviewing Jason Taylor.....
I don't think he's on the outer, the Cowboys have been sniffing around him for a while now and he wants to go there, so they're probably just releasing him early to free up a little salary cap space
