Manly are set to sign one of the tallest players in NRL history – with 201cm big man Navren Willett agreeing to join the Sea Eagles from next season.

Willett has come through the ranks at the Tigers but it is understood he will join Manly next season on a train and trial deal before being given a top 30 contract in 2026.

Only Brisbane giant Ben Te Kura at 205cm will stand taller than Willett with his height matching that of Melbourne prop Nelson Asofa-Solomona.

Willett is a winger who has scored two tries in three games for the Magpies in NSW Cup this year.

F#ck me, how many wingers do we need. Heaps of wingers and still no real quality centres.

Another back. Umm. Yeah righto. That would seem like some writing on the wall for Ray Ray. I've got to say I have plenty of love for Ray Ray. If every player had the heart that little bloke shows.

But first Schoupp who is a pretty solid boy, IMO could play front row in the modern game. Seibs clearly likes his backs big.

May be that's the plan. You start out on the bench and play for your career. Backs and forwards what's the difference.

Your either a winger and a prop. Or your a centre and an edge. Or your a ball player and a hooker.

Umm yeah another back. I'm out of ideas.

I cant see Navran lasting as a winger, he will fill out quickly and move much closer to the action maybe centre first and then 2nd row in time .Looks like Herman Munster looking down on his team mates after the try's .Anyways welcome to Manly Navren

He would be the tallest halfback in history…

Two years ago an article on him..

EXCLUSIVE: Wests Tigers fend of AFL challenge for young gun Navren Willett

By The Mole - 2 years ago

Wests Tigershave won a battle to sign a promising country centre - beating the Sydney Swans to gain his services.

Navren Willett, a tall 18-year-old from the NSW mid-north coast town of Taree, has agreed to a four year deal with the Tigers.

But not before the Swans tried to sway the youngster with a booming kicking game to play Australian Rules.

Willett played in Newcastle's Harold Matts team this season and also played some AFL in his spare time

He is one of those kids who is just a natural all-round sportsman," Willett's manager Michael Hudson told Wide World of Sports.

"I had a lot of interest in him from NRL clubs and then the Swans' approach from left-field.

"But league is his preference and he will play in the Tigers' SG Ball team next year before hopefully progressing to the top 25 from there."

While centre appears Willett's best spot, he has also shown he can play at fullback and halfback.

Few highlights in here of him playing second row

EDIT: At least I think he's playing second row in some of these... He wears 19 and 15 at different points.

Looks like he has some speed, with a stride that big would be hard to run down.

Big body he may develop into an edge player, that would be a perfect fit in the 30 squad, interestingly signed a train and trial deal and not a development contract.

Ray Ray is a liability at NRL level. At best an average first grade winger and hot headed to boot.

Good on 'im.

I hope he does well here.

At 201 cm he shoulda taken up basketball and gotten some real $$$$$$

While lower grades are lower grades - the highlights showed 4 tries against Manly, so may as well have him here, lol.

Plus, he's only 20. I know all of us were at our absolute physical and mental prime at 20, but I'll give him a few more years.

Very rarely see prospective good young players and with apparent ability , with too many tackling highlights on their You Tube clips.
Not to be pedantic but would think just as important as some attacking prowess
This lad certainly can stride out well and no trouble finding the line with a bit of opportunity .
No reason why he could not transition to an edge role if his work rate and some direct running is up to par

Recall Ray Ray "s really good effort against the Storm at Brookie earlier in the season so sure that he is still held in some good regard in the club itself .
Guess that not many people would have anticipated Lehi coming on so well and resulting in limited opportunities for the likes of Paulo and Ray Ray .
Then Faulao thereabouts .
Even more reason to think that acquiring this Willett lad , more to do with a future positional change.
