Mr.Brightside

hasn't Carney signed with the girls
I know they were trying to but Greenturd hadn't eyeballed him yet ,and of course that makes all the difference ,look what a wonderful filter that was for the Matt Lodge situation. If Carney was a on a play 1st's promise Im sure he would consider coming to Manly ,and then again it comes back to Greenburg who would no doubt say no as long as he knew it was us who wanted him

Only just got to watch the game this morning,(work commitments on weekend and busy yesterday)and whilst it is disappointing to lose 38-12 at home to Tigers, after seeing the game I am not convinced that it is all over.(no,not smokin....)I am not convinced that it is sack Barrett time,I am not convinced that the side is divided and I am not convinced that the side is crap.
The forward pack I have no real problems with,I would start Sipley and play AFB off the bench as I am not sold on Perrett and with no Lussick we probably need AFB off the bench. There was no ball for the first 18 minutes and after doing nothing but tackle AFB and Taupau were gassed and Barrett pulled them off, twice there were lazy covering efforts(from Jake first and Taupau second, one led to a break and the other a try) but the problem was not with the forwards.
The halves for me were not a problem,I prefer Hastings(but that ship looks to have sailed)but I can't see the issue with Croker in that game.He defended well,he backed up well and he only got the occasional chance to kick with the side having no ball,he put in a beautiful kick down the left 2 metres out from their line when the forwards needed a breather and he put in a lovely little chip near their line which came down just before the line and resulted in them knocking it on.
The problem for me was Turbo and Uate, there is no other way to say it was anything less than disgraceful from both of them.Tom is great when things are in attack mode, but when we are struggling and you need the guy to stand up at the back,he goes missing big time, and Uates efforts were sxxxhxxxe.Tom was nowhere to be seen when the first try was scored off a kick,he did not go to ground after a bomb and got bundled out,he dropped a ball in front of our line and he did not get low and stop the dwarf Brooks from barging over.He also should have been covering Thompson in the second half when Marshall stepped him but was lethargic.Uates hands were just poor all game, the 2 of them continually gifted the Tigers possession and position all the first half and Uates' drop at the start of the second half gifted them another try just after the break.
For me it is not over yet,but Uate has to be dropped and Tom needs to be put on notice by Barrett,I would like to see Matt Wright on the wing for Uate and Tom Wright on the bench as a warning to Tom and cover for other scenarios.
The 3 bull**** penalties in the first 5 minutes were a joke and really stuffed us to begin with,it is interesting that after that the penalties dried up when the Tigers got to a lead.
Are you Smokin', Joe? ST is all about doom and gloom after every loss.

Didnt happen mate lol.

People are tough on Matt Wright, but he is a safe pair of hands under the high ball and is positionally solid in both attack and defence.

He is no excitement machine, but then neither was Mark Willoughby (who started as a fullback), Gary Thoroughgood, Luke Williamson (who filled in competently in just about every position) or Vic Mauro. But all four were examples of players who played a role in the team and contributed to the club’s success across different eras.

Halves not a problem???? It
is when there is Noone organising.
You must have watched a different game to me.
Croker was average. After 15 min of defending and down 10 nil, we had a set of 6 on tigers goal line. Croker failed to get repeat set. benji and brooks had no problem.
Tigers then attacked our line and Croker misread the play and benji ran straight past him.
Massive point it the game..
DCE must stand up and start running the team around the park.. He needs to stop playing ad-lib football and pop in and out when suits. He is a very highly paid no 7 so take control DCE.

I didn't see this guy Noone out there, was he playing off the bench????????What is his first name????????/

Exactly...
Sure........Exactly Noone?Don't take this the wrong way,but you have your view and I have mine, neither is going to change the others mind.If I argue with you about it then I have to argue with every other person on the 30-40 other threads where everyone is saying that Barrett is **** and should be sacked, that our recruitment is **** and everyone should be sacked. Not to mention how all our players are **** and should all be sacked and that no one(Noone?)gets the Manly culture or bleeds maroon and white. There are not enough fxxks in life to give to everyone who disagrees with you....

For me I would like to see if the Roosters would part with M.Cornish or the Bulldogs with M.Frawley, neither are world beaters but play an organizing type role with some experience. If it was even mentioned that we were looking at Carney he would be stamped never to play again...

Both options are truly terrible. But I appreciate the dearth of talent is noticeable.

I love your work @Smokin Joe , no “ divided we fall” with you just “ United we stand”.

The **** posted on here since Sunday could reach Mars and come half way back!

The 12th placed side lost to the 4th placed side by 20 odd points.

Was anyone truly surprised by that???

Not me!

We lose to Parra this week, and this joint will explode (implode?), either way it'll be f@cked! :punch:

I am a bit of a fan of Cornish though.I thought he was good at Raiders,(he is a bit of a Hodkinson type as an organizer without all the injuries) Parra as usual stuffed him up and he has done well at the Roosters since moving. He impressed this year at the start when Keary was unavailable.Interesting that Lamb has been dropped this week by Knights in favour of Bulldogs bound Cogger, maybe the Knights could be persuaded to swap Lamb for Uate?Just jokes..... but maybe they could be persuaded to release him now as he does not seem to be fitting into their long term plans at this point.......
