Move Heaven and Earth...

He's really not a bad prop. He'd improve plenty of packs. We just have too many of that Big Sized Middle. And if he was to play top grade in 25. I would think Taukiaho is again more of the same.
I think he is ok in a vacuum - in fact i would start him at prop in our current team.

I just dont think he has a heap of value externally given injuries, and the off field stuff.

Put it this way, i wouldn't have extended him, but also wouldn't pay significant frieght to get rid of him -if that makes sense.

“Sometimes I just feel I could quit, like in a day. It sounds a bit weird, but I get those thoughts sometimes where I’m just like, ‘Is this really for me?’ I’m very grateful to be where I am and play with the Roosters, but rugby league isn’t the whole of me.

This quote if accurate says it all. Not a good mindset. I would be looking elsewhere for our middle bull.

He sounds like a smart guy…he thinks about giving the game away and only plays footy to support his family and in the same breath has aspirations to take the club to the GF and play for NSW?! Yeah OK 🤨

I am not professing to be a doctor but general apathy and malaise are symptoms associated with mental healh issues such as depression and ptsd (among others)...
Alternatively he may be a recluse by nature and/or highly introverted so is not into the whole spotlight/pressure of NRL... maybe he just hates being forced to pretend he gives a sh*t what sausage-roll eaters think... ?
Who knows?
Personally I am not convinced that intermittent apathy to playing football is an indicator of IQ and/or intelligence... and, regardless, his skills pay the bills and if he can play like he did this year (whilst occasionally not giving a sh*t about footy) - then wgaf? He would still be in the top-2 forwads in our pack and offer something we have not had for ages... off-loads and second phase play...

He wouldn't be the first person doing a job for the money, quite a lot of people have jobs they don't give a **** about deep down and do it because it pays the bills.
As the author says,it is rare for a footy player to be as open and candid as he is,people aren't used to hearing a footy player admit they don't love the game and do it for the money.
There might be quite a lot of the Polynesian kids from the west who view it as a way to provide for their families.
As long as he honours contracts and puts in and performs I would not be too worried because he does not love the game.

I'm apathetic about politics; is that a symptom of a mental health concern or do I just not care much?

I agree, apathy to playing football is not an indication of IQ or intelligence and you'll find I didn't suggest that it was...however apathy and aspiration in a general conceptual sense seem at odds with one another but he found a way to paradoxically combine the two in the same sentence. Wgaf? I don't really, just thought it was a little amusing to hear him ramble about not wanting to play the game but aspire to make representative sides and suggest that 'he' would like to take the club to a GF.

Anyway, I get it, you want us to a sign him and don't care about the rest of the nonsense and that's totally your prerogative. Personally, I wouldn't mind him at Manly but I don't think we are in with even a slight chance unfortunately.

Your last paragraph pretty much nails it on all accounts @LeonardCohen
Yeah I am apathetic to politics too AND I have mental health issues... as I said... "not a doctor" lol

...to get Terrell May into maroon and white...

...released by Rorters and on about $475K per season... highest potential of any young prop in the game imo...

100% agree. I have been saying that since he became a free agent a week and half ago.

Seibold needs to stop making el cheapo moneyball signings and sign some decent forwards like this guy.

Mestrov, do your job, overule Spoony and sign this guy.

,erotackle cane up with 5 poszible landing spots and Manly was not one of them...

in other news May is launching legal action against multiple fan accounts for defamation as he is adamant that no off-field incident occurred... saw a quote from Crighton that basically sId "back off, the bloke is as straight as an arrow and has not done anything wrong"...

Watch this space I guess...

Where do you expect him to land? Personally, I can see him at the Dogs.
I think we are chasing Leo Thompson, I have no doubt Gus would be on the phone though..I’m doubtful of May the rorters said he has an attitude problem, not sure what to make of that might be good player but if he isn’t a good fit then that’s an issue, can the Eagles fit him in circa $500k?
