Most tackles: DCE

It was good to see the game plan there that he wasn't going to be running the show in attack, he was going to take a bit more of a back seat which ruined the Roosters game plan which was to shut him out of the game. It really let Green play a good game and Walker to have a blinder.

Hat's off to Uate too what a solid game he had

As our top tackler, which is admirable for a halfback, I take my (Manly) hat off to Cherry!

Also as @Fluffy said, he noticeably led the kick chases, etc so I say well done Cherry

Whilst I believe DCE has got a bit of a bad wrap in recent years, the one thing he has never done is shirk his defensive responsibilities. Regardless of other things (like game mgt) he regularly gets high tackle counts.

The last couple of weeks I have seen a different DCE. I thought the look in his eye when he spoke to the ref at one stage said it all, and you could see him talking to the boys and they then proceeded to bash the roosters. This reminded me of when Killer used to have a quiet word to the boys and you could see it was 'bashing defence' time. Those sets where the opposition would make 10 to 20metres and the commentators would say 'Manly are making metres with their defence'.

If this is all a result of Tallis and his comments, great, please continue your dribble. This is the same idiot who said Jamie Lyon had no right to not play origin.....sorry fuhrer I thought we lived in a free country.

I reckon DCE was tackling and chasing kicks just like this last year but the difference here is, he is not expected to do all of the attacking and there is a team with direction to keep go forward. The edge defence has tightened which in turn is leaving the back 3 to tidy up kicks and breaks and also gives the middle a chance to set up for the next tackle. It certainly looks like a lot of this was being put into place last year and the team is reaping the rewards.

Yeah but Tallis wants to know if he decked anyone..?
Someone needs to deck Tallis...
But then again ever since he said Chez didn't care about Manly or his coach he has been sensational. So I guess we can thank Tallis for the great pep talk he gave our Captain.
