I think that ARKO had the best overview of the whole super league saga , when he thought that there was every prospect and opportunity to enhance the code , with both groups accommodating each other in good faith , and prior to the split . But Murdoch apparently just wanted total dominance and control . And there were 20 quite competitive A R L teams before the split , including the quite strong Manly squad of the mid - nineties or so . SO , yes it does just makes you wonder , what may have transpired without the super league war . Anyway even more reason to resent Murdoch "s actions at that time .

I actually liked Dave Smith. He had good vision for the game and had the idea of creating small boutique grounds to watch league at. Met him a few times and he was always honest. Told him I couldn't take my kids to the famous semi final that we didn't get at brookvale and he heard my complaint about the travel times and gave me free tickets to the final.

Anyone connected with News filth who did everything they could to destroy the fabric of our game and continue to influence the NRL and the super league clubs I will never forgive!

Rebecca Wilson never had a nice thing to say about our club and her persecution of Snake will never be forgotten or forgiven by me. Rothtool is a close second to her, poor soul, he has never recovered from what Manly do to his guppies in big games.

Bill Harrigan who may be one of the great referees but he hated our club, on the news limited payroll as well.

Roy Masters, who tried to start a class war between our club and Wests and who lives the life of a silvertail, A grade hypocrit!

After watching the excellent fibros v silver tails doco I developed quite a dislike of Bruce Gibbs. Most of those interviewed on both sides had a bit of a chuckle and even acknowledged that the hatred was manufactured. Gibbs however appeared bitter and dirty.
