More Perrett

We need some hard running direct do your job types, too many trundlers at the moment.

Offloads are important but are secondary to speed and directness.

Offloads are necessary to break up well structured composed defensive lines but the bigger gain overall is direct consistent go foward.

Injury update. Lloyd Perrett has gone to hospital for scans on a potential sternum injury. Will advise results once known.

Not at all
The best way to beat a structured defence is offloads and 2nd phase play.
Solid structured defence will hold up your best go forward players and set for the next play.
The indecision after an offload is something defence cannot train against or stop.

Didn't i say offloads break up structured defensive lines, the point is fast direct go forward takes precedence over offloads, until you generate the former the offloads will tend to be high risk and pushed causing errors.

Even the best defensive lineups will struggle with fast up tempo go forward that keeps coming at you all game with direct straightness, the Storm today had holes exposed off a quick play the ball.

Dragons and Storm are able to maintain speed and directness for long periods, Manly are unable to cope with the intensity level, unable to wrap the ball or wrestle to a high standard also, or conversely capable of delivering the same direct intensity to generate reliable go forward sets set after set.

When the back three try and inject themselves early in sets Manly tend to have good success during that set of six (Tafua, Tom, Akuila and also the centres) power, speed, strength gets Manly moving forward and generates penalties at the right times.

All too confusing, all I want to know is can we win a game again soon, if not ever ( on 2017).

Interestingly I tweeted journo Scott Bailey and they are hopeful of having Marty back next week. Fingers crossed.
You wouldn't want to bring him back to early with the Raiders being next to play. What's his majesty Myles doing next weekend?....will he be joining the boys or more resting to be done?

Did 'Tent' play this weekend?
I can't see him mentioned in the Under 20s. He didn't play in the top two grades either.
What is the point of having players (this guy is tipped to play 1st grade) sitting on the sidelines?

If Perrett is 1st grade bound (as some suggest) ... then I would suggest AFB is Blacktown bound.

I think, Kapow, Lussick, BJ, Myles and Perrett are all ahead of him on this years performances.

Big fan of AFB but have been disappointed with him so far this year. He hasn't been bad, just not providing the impact in defence or attack I believe him capable of. I have read others talking about his go forward, but I just haven't seen it.
