My understanding is they are 2 completely different conditions. The first is comparatively rare.
Schizophrenia on the other hand is suffered by about 3% of the population, and may be characterised by confused thinking (some here may be due for a check-up??) or delusions or hallucinations. It is treatable.
DSM5 can add more insight, I'm sure. He wrote the book. 😉
