Michael Robertson

Robbo was a no frills winger who was arguably one of the most reliable and best players ever to pull on the maroon and white, though he was underrated by almost all but Manly fans. Never the fastest winger, but he definitely wasn't slow either and could easily play fullback as well as wing, though Robbo himself admitted he wasn't as good at the back as Snake.

Did you know in the 3 games he played for Scotland, all in the 2008 World Cup (surprisingly his only test matches), he played fullback in each game and scored his only test try in their 18-16 win over Fiji in Gosford on 5 November 2008.

In future years Michael Robertson will be a very strong contender for a wing spot in Manly's best ever teams in a group that includes the likes of Ken Irvine, Tom Mooney, Michael O'Conner and Dale Shearer (although Snoz never actually played on the wing for us).

Three tries in a Grand Final says it all about Robbo under rated by most until that game...

From the Vault
I googled Robbo's twin bro (who is Adam by the way) and found this old thread from 2005. Once again, the wisdom of us armchair ST critics is outstanding!
Sorry Fluffy!

had some time to find some info, pre manly Robbo played 5 seasons for Canberra, 2001-2005 for 59 games and 15 tries. Not exactly setting the world on fire.

If we were to even be talked about signing someone like that now it would crack 100 pages here in under a week
