As much as i wanted to revel in the win last night, jumped on the phone to my mother and had a good yarn. Much respect and thoughts to Michael McGuire and his family.

My thoughts go out to him, what a terrible day for the bloke

Can't imagine what it must be like to be preparing for the biggest day of your coaching career and get the sad news of your mother passing

Huge effort for him to even turn up there tonight, the game of footy must have felt irrelevant and it would have been a blow to the players as well

Have been reading your posts for a while Kiwi and my heart really goes out to Madge . Ive a feeling Mrs Maguire was a really nice lady . But you sir are a champion, you are not only a good sport but a good person .

I just hope the media don't jump all over this.Maguire does not need it,he needs space to absorb the loss of his mother, and the hacks need to show some professionalism.
