Membership battle heats up
THE Manly Warringah Sea Eagles will continue to target schools across the northern beaches and north shore over the coming week in their bid to lift their membership numbers.
The Sea Eagles have signed more than 1000 new members, young and old, over the past week.
The club is currently vying for $10,000 from the NRL in their Battle of the Beaches membership race with the Roosters and Sharks.
The competition ends this afternoon with the Sea Eagles cracking 6000 members late yesterday, and closing the gap on the Roosters (6136).
“It’s been a great success,†Sea Eagles official Peter Peters said of Manly’s membership recruitment drive.
“We will be hitting the schools this week and we are expecting a lot more members to join.â€Â
The Sea Eagles will visit schools in Narraweena, Mona Vale, Northbridge and Chatswood today, and drop in to schools in country NSW across the weekend.
