Members Day Today

Loobs

Living in the demountable.
Who went? I took my girls - had a great time! No longer scared of Ellie (maybe coz she wasn't getting dry humped by Egor, although "her" male voice was a tad confusing)

They did a kids clinic in the last holidays. I actually thought this was perfect - small, so you got a chance to take a pic with whoever you wanted, kids got in the jumping castles whenever they wanted. Low key worked for me...

It was strange scheduling it the day after an away game. However, it was a great afternoon, the nice weather sure helped, and I got photos/signatures from all the players there, who were very approachable and so friendly.
Notable absentees were Taufua (concussed?), Api and Brown and, most of all, the local Manly fans!
Just very happy to be able to access the players, give them praise and much support

Any management there appreciating the members???
Yes, management as in Penn himself was there. Beaver hosted the afternoon and he certainly expressed their appreciation, whilst promoting our next 2 games at Brookie. (He asked Trent during the interviews what was the best part of their win last night and he said their Defence.)

I was disappointed for the players that there weren't as many fans as I would have expected (however if I want to be selfish I was happy for the extra time we could chat to each of them) I do hope Penn sees this as bad management in planning this event and not sees this as fans deliberately staying away.

JUST quietly I'm a member, but I don't recall seeing this event promoted. E.g. No email this week or text. I got heaps of emails and texts reminding me to renew my membership.

Original email received 28/4 and reminder email received 19/5 (Member Day this Sunday). Also mentioned in the weekly 'Inside Swoop' team announcement emails to members, but otherwise not promoted elsewhere.

Really wanted to go but missed out this time around 🙁 Hoping for another one later in the season.

Me too (emails, inside swoop) and also on the Manly site.

I went but as ALinda was getting all the attn from the players I just stayed in the background.

🙂

I think the lack of staff made it feel more like just casually mingling with the players. For those that were there for most of the time, once the bulk of the signing was done the team was just kind of walking around and posing for photos which was really good.

Like was mentioned above - probably selfish reason but I thought the more laid back vibe worked really well in making everyone accessible and was a big plus for me with my kids anyway because I didn't really want to be stuck in lines with a bored 6 and 3 year old...

Were most contracted and paid players there? I assume Brett Stewart and Steve Matai would have been very popular with the assembled members.
