Well if we are one of the clubs over the cap for next season with our current squad and Snake and Matai's retirement then our football department has lost the plot.

What happens is todd has told the favoured teams that the cap is at 10 mill.

then he/nrl put out rumours that the cap is going to be less.

Meanwhile the non favoured teams all look to offload whilst the favoured ones (eels...storm...broncos...etc) keep on signing.

Eventually the cap comes out as 10 mill, the favoured teams are safe and the non favoured teams have all offloaded their players to...you guessed it, the favoured teams!

If you read Toddy's tweets, we all need to just stop complaining. Good old teflon todd - does nothing, delivers nothing, admits zero fault or accountability, couldnt run a chook raffle, and tells the punters to stop complaining.

How can the NRL ratify ANY contracts when they don't know what the cap is going to be?

I'm certain that I remember, before Brett Stewart signed his current contract, that by signing him we were going to be over the cap, and they wouldn't ratify his contract until AFTER we had become cap compliant (I didn't dream this, did I?).

So, how are they ratifying any new contracts being signed that take clubs 1c over the current cap limit?

As for the fact that, 3 months before the new season officially begins (contacts commence 1 Nov), what kind of poorly run organisation is this that doesn't know what the cap is? It would be like a business saying to each department that they have, hey, spend away, and then, once they've spent, going, no, you can't spend that, your limit was less than that. No other comp in the world would operate like this (well, maybe a comp between local pub players, but the "cap" there is whether 2 jugs of beer are bought for the opposition after the game or 3, and whether the bbq is just sausages or steak as well).
