Every story about the Seaeagles in the media is beat up in a negative way.
Massive $$$$ thrown at the club guaranteeing stability is devestating -wtf??
Read a howler in the Sunday Telegraph that Brett Stewart & co were at a race day then went to a casino in Melbourne -what a sin. Apparently an onlooker said their behaviour was JUST acceptable!! By who's standards & who is the onlooker in which we suddenly believe?? - a Storm supporter??
They can keep trying to rock the boat but the haters seem to ignite extra fire as proven in 2011 & actually help bond the Seaeagles players & fans. All the speculation & crap will continue in 2012 but after another lap of honour the media may have to try something new - I think their tactics are having a reverse effect & making the Seaeagles stronger.

Well said mate.
I heard the "barely acceptable" comment the other day about the Stewart brothers behaviour at the races and just had to laugh.

I believe Rothfields' 'source' was Craig Bellamy, who was 'a little under the weather' himself at the time!

FFS it's the off season...if Brett wants to go to the Melbourne Cup and get a little pissed on the day BIG DEAL, isn't it what the other 99,999 people that go there are doing anyway??

Oh I forgot, he's a footballer, and as such not allowed to enjoy himself.

To be honest. Sometimes I think we can get a little bit too precious about whats said in the media. People don't seriously believe every article with even the slightest slant of criticism is part of a media scheme to destabilize our club do they?

As for our players being in the social pages, big deal. That's what social pages are for, they are celebrities and the most inane stuff gets said about people. And IMO its a good thing for the game that our players are deemed well known enough to make it these type of absolutely useless bits of media.

Not overly concerned about Manly players being watched at Casino's or the club being touted as in the huge turmoil takeovers - just found it amusing that nothing could be used against Brett & friends to make a story so the tabloids Quote an onlookers opinion of their behavior as "Just acceptable".
Why the question re media scheme to destabalise the club?? - may be a slightly over the top reaction to a newspaper article though I must agree there is often a negative spin on these stories involving Seaeagles players.
