The hoo-ha concerning Zorba is quite funny imo. Yes he's been there a long time, so what?Being a club icon IS a lifetime appointment, fulfilling a professional role such as media manager is certainly not.
Many have been suckered into criticising Perry or the 'faceless men' on the score of the timing. True it's not ideal but Perry has made it plain that it was Zorba who demanded the decision be brought forward so he would know his fate. He hasn't been sacked 4 days before the finals, simply been told that he won't be continuing after the season.
Zorba is one of the most popular Manly characters of all, naturally some of his great mates like Arko & Bozo (who are getting a bit long in the tooth themselves and wouldn't necessarily have their fingers on the pulse) have leaped in with helpful quotes.
We fans would be foolish to do similar or in any way play along with this anti-Manly media beat-up.
