Matty Johns Podcast

Think that in Manly "s case , their league"s club profit margin was already declining just prior to the super league saga so may have been inevitable for some private equity input as things seemed to be transpiring at that stage . Not choosing to receive any prop up money from the Packer group again no doubt just sped up the financial struggle issue for the club One of the main outcomes from the saga was that players became full time professionals which probably still has a range of for and against advocates and also [ reduced money] but still on permanent higher contracts since then . Just crazy money on offer at the time when C P I money differences are taken into account since 19 97 general big money contracts , what would one mil to the higher paid players then be valued at now in comparison and for instance , maybe 1 . 7 mil or thereabouts . Little wonder quite a few clubs went broke or had their fiances decimated during the super league drama ..
