Early days for Matt but after today and his optimism before the match doesn’t bode well. I’ll give him the season before I make a judgement rather than just 3 games.

Matty is the role model for all youth.
The work ethics that he inspires in them will bear fruit

This is shooting Bambi but what credentials does he have to be a coach? I want him around the club as a fitness guy but as a coach he should get the bullet.

He has been coach for about 3 games and you want to throw him under the bus already. Let us wait and see what happens.

For the record I would prefer he or Monas became (officially) the assistant coach to Des next year. We still have Barrett's former assistant occupying that chair at the moment.

And for the record... This is a list of Holden Cup winning coaches from the 10 years of the competition's history.

2008 - Raiders - Andrew McFadden
2009 - Storm - Brad Arthur
2010 - Warriors - John Ackland
2011 - Warriors - John Ackland
2012 - Tigers - Todd Payten
2013 - Panthers - Garth Brennan
2014 - Warriors - Stacey Jones
2015 - Panthers - Cameron Ciraldo
2016 - Roosters - Anthony Barnes
2017 - Sea Eagles - Wayne Lambkin

My conclusion... it is not a terribly good predictor of future NRL coaching success.

How did you do that...cool
