Is Mataeo the high profile player mentioned in SMH that hasnt been to training for a month due to personal reasons. TBH I haven't seen him in any training photos so is it him.

Actually, this story is a furphy. I sent through an email, while a little tipsy and a lot bored, asking if they knew why Shane Rodney has not trained with the Eagles yet. They must be scratching their collective little heads in wonder and confusion, but ran with the rumour anyway. Hahaha!!

I remember that photo it was taken at the very beginning. The article states last month.. Haven't seen any photos since not even an interview on sea eagles TV.. You would of thought as a high profile recruit he would of been interviewed by now ! makes me suspicious ...

Mmm, hope it's not mataeo.... That would really hurt us at this stage , way to late to find a half decent replacement. You know if it was choc, I'd take him back......even after acting like a pork chop last year, I do really think he's made a huge mistake and will regret walking away from the club...... Was a legend in my eyes, but not now.

There are photos of Barba with his Cronulla team mates as early as two days ago, so count him out.

As much as some of us don't like Choc anymore, I think we all know what kind of work ethic the guy has; no way would he cop out on training.

I am dirty bout this article. It is just such poor form. It's not just a gossip piece a player hasn't been training. The journo's spin, or how does the journo know the club is frustrated, the axe is close? It gives the impression someone in a club told a journo mate to write it in such a way, Is it a threat to a player to hit the training paddock through the media?

I am hoping our club has more tact then that. Especially if a player was having some off field issues, and if it is Feleti, let's not forget he has just packed the family up and moved country and all. If it is about Feleti, the leak has got to follow Dave Perry out the door. No football club should be threatening a player with the axe through the media. It is an utter disgrace.
