Queensland has made four changes to its side for next week's State of Origin Game III at Lang Park.

Justin Hodges returns to the backline, while forwards Matt Scott, Neville Costigan and Raiders prop David Shillington also come into the squad.

Shillington will make his Origin debut from the bench.

Maroons selectors needed to find replacements for injured trio Ben Hannant, Petero Civoniceva and Israel Folau, as well as suspended Roosters forward Nate Myles.

Billy Slater, Darius Boyd, Greg Inglis, Justin Hodges, Willie Tonga, Darren Lockyer (capt), Johnathan Thurston, Steve Price, Cameron Smith, Matt Scott, Ashley Harrison, Sam Thaiday, Dallas Johnson. Interchange: Karmichael Hunt, David Shillington, Neville Costigan, Michael Crocker, 18th man: Cooper Cronk

Queensland have injected new blood into their forward pack for July 15's Origin III clash with New South Wales at Suncorp Stadium.

North Queensland Cowboys prop Matt Scott has been slotted into the front row for the injured Petero Civoniceva while Canberra's David Shillington and St George Illawarra enforcer Neville Costigan feature on the bench.

Bulldogs prop Ben Hannant (knee) was not considered while Sydney Roosters forward Nate Myles was ruled out after being suspended for six games for a drunken incident at a Central Coast hotel.

Melbourne Storm halfback Cooper Cronk has been called into the squad as the 18th man.

Karmichael Hunt is still battling an ankle injury and is believed to be in some doubt for Wednesday week's match at Suncorp Stadium where Queensland will be chasing their first series clean sweep in 15 years.

Winger Israel Folau is also out of the picture after fracturing his ankle playing for Brisbane against the Warriors on the weekend.

Cowboys flyer Willie Tonga moves from the centres to the wing as a result.

Good to see the Dragons lose costigan(sound like some sort of cosmetic or pharmaceutical drug, take two Costigans a day with food)that should make up a little for us losing Choc

Interesting to see Cronk as 18th man.  NSW usually has a utility/backrower as their 18th.  Has Cronk beaten Prince to the side?

Great news about Costigan too, shame Tonga is playing instead of Dell  😛
