Manly's Best Combined Premiership Team

OK, lets have some fun here.

What would be your ultimate Manly Grand Final winning team from any of our 8 premierships?

Now, here are the rules:

1 - A player can not be picked out of position that they were selected and/or played in a winning Grand Final. e.g. you can't pick Wombat at fullback and then put Snake on the wing because Snake never played or was selected on the flank. If you want to pick both, one has to be at fullback, the other on the bench.

2 - If a player played in 2 different positions in separate winning GF's, they can be picked in one of them. e.g. Jamie Lyon can be selected at either 5/8 where he played in 2008 or centre where he was in 2011.

3 - Any player who was selected in a GF winning run on side can be picked on the bench, but a player selected on the bench can't be in the starting 13 unless they were in the starting side in another GF such as Cliffy Lyons who was 5/8 in 1987 but started on the bench in 1996.

4 - Each GF winning side must have at least one selection in your team.

Im 43 years old so those 70's teams i cant really judge on. But the ones i remember vs canberra. St.george. Melbourne and warriors. Id like to add guys like toovey, Ward, ridge

Use your own judgement. But I think we know enough about the teams and players that might have been before our time (personally, I was only 1 and 3 years old when we won in 76 and 78) to make an informed decision.

* Killer and Bozo in centres would be devastating with their speed and footwork working off Cliffy and Gifty
* Halves pick themselves IMO, none better
* Menzies on the left dining out off Cliffy, and Gifty resuming the role as our best ball playing backrower on the right
* Middle of Igor, Kitey and Spud would be solid and uncompromising with a bit of ball playing ability
* Thrower is old school hooker, tough as teak and crafty.
* Only saw end of Ian Martin's career but he was a great player with obvious utility value - could probably even cover dummy half off the bench - just edges Dessie out
* Choc can cover middle or edge and was a metre eating machine in his prime
* Cement only because I didn't see enough of O'Neill
* Ward because we need a Pommie and I didn't see enough of Reilly to include him
