The abovementioned matches were played earlier tonight at Brookvale Oval. Just caught the end of the 1st match . but the Sea Eagle Shield match was very entertaining. Even a few punches thrown on the half time siren.

I attended St Pauls , Manly ( ex Christian Bros ) & we used to attend many Sea Eagle Shield games & Commonwealth Bank Cup matches that our school competed in. Our team at the time ( a few years ahead of me ) included Phil Blake & John "Jughead" Jones.

lol my two former high schools did battle and am glad to see the latter of them won. Come on Cromer

 

[The Wheel]

I had mate who played in that side with Phil Blake. He told a funny story about the semi final they played. It was against the team that eventually won - Ivan Henjak was their star players. He said their game plan was to target Henjak early in the game. My mate hit Henjak with the best late high shot he could muster and got him fair & square across his nose. Apparently Henjak got straight back up and just shook his head. He had a blinder despite the boys bashing every time they could catch him. A very tough player was young Ivan
