Manly v Rorters - Round 19, 2018 Pre-Game

When (if) Walks and Jorge return to the side, I'd like to see Wright moved to centre and Suli pushed out to the wing.

A backline of Turbo, Jorge, TGWH, Kelly, Suli, Walks and DCE could be a very potent one. And with Kapow, Jake and AFB providing the forward platform its something to work on.

Of course, we could have the Kangaroos test backline and we would still struggle to put points on the board with the structures our coach has us playing.
Once we have an experienced ball playing NRL 5/8 to complement DCE I would like to see Speed with Walker one one side at centre , more speed with Tom Wight on the other side at centre and more speed in the middle with Tom Turbo at fullback
I like speed , I like backs that can break a game from anywhere on the field .
I don't hate any players . I just don't rate some players . The only thing I HATE WITH A PASSION in this world is LOSING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Walker(W)right.
The Super sonic Sea eagles !!!
Walker and Wright watch them in full flight
You can see them but you cant catch them
You cant stop what you cant catch Bradley 😉

Gosh I didn't know we were playing the Roosters until I saw this thread. Thanks for letting me know.

It just underscores my interest in Manly this year after the constant ****ups.

We have a good record v the Chooks, I’ve had this one penciled in for a win for a while.

Yeah I know they are chock full of superstars but let’s face it they aren’t playing like a superstar team and I reckon are ripe for the picking!!

On paper we have the players to pluck the chooks
Over to you Trent . See if you can get them up playing as one great winning team.

Could it be that when we have no ball he has to make more tackles and we are losing, and more ball, less tackles, we are winning.
That's what your numbers say to me.

Statistics are just numbers, not necessarily any certain particular trend.

Edit: typo
Well it could mean teams forcing him to make tackles to slow him down when we start our sets

They are forcing him to defend in the middle?

My point was that statistics can mean any one of a multitude of things.
I get that
my point is coaches know how to render a dangerous player in affective and the stats would validate it.
What it does sought of prove is our rookie coach is getting played

Winterstein sitting on the one for the whole 80 and Hodko running on for a handful of minutes, may as well run with a two man bench.
Agree, that was very strange. Frankenstein is there to tackle, which is what we needed to do in the last 20 minutes against the Storm. Can't understand why Jake wasn't given a break.
Hodko? Not sure why he is on the bench. I guess it's to give our young hooker a break. Perhaps it is to kick a goal, or field goal. Perhaps it's simply because we don't have any utilities uninjured in our roster.
While Tango runs hard it seemed to me that he was suspect in defence, and whether he can play more than 10 minutes at a stretch leaves us vulnerable. When you have him and Tent on together you need us to have possession because both are attacking weapons and our defence becomes suspect.
Sippers has been playing well in reserve grade but he is similar to Tango and Tent. I look forward to Jetski returning as I think he makes a good bench player and adds energy when he is on.

I would like to see Lane back to the bench and to come on for AFB or Kapow as a prop. We are missing a lot of impact when they both go off. I think Paseka is looking the goods as well but needs a bit of mongrel to round out that big frame.

Would feel more confident if a fit Walker was playing , just seems to add that sharpness to trouble an opposition's defence . Maybe a bit optimistic but hopefully Tom Wright can provide some similar dash to put some pressure on the Roosters defensive line . If the Manly defence can aim up and show some vigor and with some reasonable share of possession , should be able to make a game of it but will have to be a bit more imaginative and clinical in attack then certainly last week to be competitive as the Roosters usually have some points in them. . Don;t think that Manly have won a home game since getting the better of the Raiders in round 4 so certainly overdue for a good home performance and based on their previous season encounter with the Roosters , would like to think that they have some prospect of a rare season home ground win . And use the full bench and in contrast to last week [ i don't know what that was about ] , it is not as if Frank is not up to i st grade standard .
