Raiders smashed us today mate. It was boys vs men out there. They clocked off at 32-10 or whatever it was. We were maybe in it for 10 minutes.
Seriously kidding if you think that Raiders team with it's armchair ride all year and it's awful defense deserves to sit 2nd. If we had a fair draw without all the bullsht 5 day turnarounds which have directly caused the injury crisis we have. But that's never going to change while we have a lapdog organization run by a corrupt used car salesmsn that basically riggs results to suit it's corporate sponsor.

Five things we learned from Sea Eagles v Raiders
By Joe McDonough
August 27, 2016
THE Raiders have moved into second spot, beating the Sea Eagles in a high scoring affair 44-30 at Brookvale Oval in front of a crowd of 11,137. Here’s what RLW learned:

1. Raiders continue their charge.
Ricky Stuart won’t be thrilled with the way his side gave the Sea Eagles a sniff in the second half, but he will be happy his side has jumped the Sharks into second spot (at least until later tonight). Considering the disrupted preparation with Blake Austin breaking his hand, there was plenty to like about the Raiders’ performance, particularly in attack, and you’d expect them to improve as Sam Williams gets more time to reconnect with the first squad.
2. It wasn’t Fortress Brookie this season.
Not even an emotional lap of honour from retiring legend Jamie Lyon prior to the game could inspire a Sea Eagles victory today. Sure they came up against a quality Raiders unit, but they had their chances and once they got going rattled home to just miss at the death. Brayden Wiliame will be disappointed with his performance. In the first half he just had to pass to Jorge Taufua and he would’ve walked in unmarked but dummied and got tackled. Then in the second half, the Green Machine would’ve started to feel the heat if Wiliame drew Jack Wighton to Trbojevic backing up on the inside, but he mistimed the pass and was pinged for a clear forward pass. Known as “Fortress Brookie”, their spiritual home certainly didn’t live up to its name this year, with the Sea Eagles only getting the chocolates three times at home.

3. Right edge suspect in defence.
The Sea Eagles shredded the Raiders’ right side today. Tom Trbojevic, who is far from 100 per cent, toyed with the Whitehead, Williams and Leilua edge, scoring an easy hat-trick on their side. Leilua made some poor reads in defence, particularly with “Turbo’s” first try, which was a standard sweeping play. For his second, the fullback just got between the shoulders of Leilua and Williams and forced his way over. Expect rival teams to centre their attacking plays around putting Leilua in two minds.

4. Leilua and Rapana dominate in attack again.
Jordan Rapana and his partner in crime Joey Leilua were unstoppable again today, as they have been all season. Rapana first gave his side the ascendancy, when in the 19th minute, with the Raiders camped on their own line, he scooped up a wayward Api Koroisau pass to race 90 metres to score under the posts. Then two minutes before half-time with Manly just two points adrift, Sam Williams passed to the flanker on the blind side with nothing on, and he stepped inside one defender and powered his way between two others to give his side a handy lead at the break. Then Leilua took up the slack in the second 40, bagging a double of his own in the space of four minutes.

5. Boyd should’ve been sent.
Whether you agree with the punching send-off rule or not, it’s in our game. So where is the consistency? Sure there wasn’t much in it, but Shannon Boyd hit Nate Myles in the head with a closed fist in the first half, it was seen by the pocket ref and the Canberra prop was penalised. So Manly fans are quite within their rights to wonder why Ben Cummins didn’t march him.

Raiders 44 (Rapana 3, Leilua 2, Vaughan, Lee, Wighton tries; Croker 7 goals) beat Sea Eagles 30(T.Trbojevic 3, J.Trbojevic, Cherry-Evans tries; Wright 3 goals)

Half their team? 8 players?
Well, no, just:

+ Blake Austin (main play maker)
+ Junior Paulo
+ Jeff Lima
+ Lachlan Croker
+ Brenko Lee couldn't get a start (he'd be our best winger)
+ Aiden Sezer went down injured (shoulder or arm I think)
+ Shannon Boys (played injured)

Raiders are premiership favorites and we had a side with williame and brown in the centres, Wright at 5/8, starling and myles the latter limping and offering nothing anyway, turbo busted and we still put 30 on them.

Would love to see Manly fill the centre and 5/8 position with decent players and get a fit side out there for 2017 and see what we can offer.

I dont care if your bellyache or dez or Bennett your going to get smashed with a team with those players running around. We are still down on decent players to be top 8.

100% agree.

+ GOOD 5/8 (very hard to find - hope not Green)
+ David Mead
+ Steve Matai is able to return
+ Top line forward (Gillett)

and we are starting to look ok again.

So half turned to 4.

Ok. so new question. If Lyon, Matai, Snake, Lussick, Walker and Lawrence played do we still lose?

+ Tom played injured
+ Jorge played injured and was replaced.

Jeff Lima and Lachlan Croker are their reserve players how the hell do you list them? It's like us saying "ohhhh Jayden Hodges didn't play, that's why we lost."

Not much available for 2017, but there is a whole heap of centers and play makers off contract next year
We need to sign decent players to fill those key positions
Play maker off contract
Bird, moses, ashley taylor, adam reynolds, roberts, widdop, milford, thurston, johnson, hunt, brooks etc
Center
Aitken, waqa blake, chambers, feki, bird, ferguson, hurrell, simona, Whare

the only keeper backs
1. T.Turbo
2. DCE
3. Parker (solid defense, safe and fast, we develop well)
the rest need to be in reggies at best.

And mate, the rest would be in reggies if Lyon, Snake, Matai and Walker were fit. They are not Barrett's first choice players. They do their best, it's just not good enough. No fault and no blame.

Spot on re: Williame....useless.

So four try assists don't mean much?
By your reasoning we shouldn't credit Ferris for the linebreak for DCE's try yeah ?

Yes he made some errors but made twice as many tackles as their halfback and had a go.
Anddddd right on time. Makes far too many errors EVERY game Stu. Yep a few assists but he should do that every single game. He should be in the top 2 or 3 players every game.

Some errors? Error of the game. We had just scored and had huge momentum and a pen and what's he do? Misses the sideline. That a huge fundamental error and unforgettable. And third time this year. not to mention his constant errors in attack every game. That ok though he's awesome!!!!! Let's give him 3 million!!!

And que the DCE love fest.......
