Why are these games always such dull, boring, ordinary affairs ? Year after year it is the same, especially when we go there
We were horrendous today, the worst I have seen for quite a while. You hear a lot that teams say "We didn't turn up today", our boys hardly got out of bed on that effort, and it was obvious from the opening 5 mins.
I think over my 20 odd years supporting us, I have turned off before fulltime maybe 3-4 times, we today i added to that tally at around the 70th minute because I'd had enough
We may as well have taken half the team along anyway, it was a waste of time having the left hand side there on attack because not once did we try to use them. There is the old saying of playing to your strengths, but there is also such a thing as overkill, just ask Chad Randall. It was so predictable we would run a play from DCE to Glenn who would get it on to Lyon and that was all Penrith had to deal with. There weren't any of those nice moves with Brett chiming into the backline, and we had Matai, one of the top linebreakers in the comp this season, out there twiddling his thumbs most of the game. Foran is the easy blame for that but it isn't his fault we did that all game. Frustrating
Defence, Penrith didn't throw a lot at us, but the amount of 1 on 1 misses today, from players all across the park, showed the lack of attitude in the side today. Very disappointing
Only guys in our side today that didn't **** up would probably be Taufua and Galuvao
The only thing to look forward to out of that is that I have no doubt we will be fired up for Friday night at Brookvale after the blast they should be getting. A real missed opportunity today to kick away from some of the comp on the table
In saying all that, well done to Penrith as well. Played well and thoroughly deserved their win today
On a side note, was I the only one to see about a 4 inch gap between Daniela's right hand and the ball in the initial attempt at grounding it
