In Sunday's opening match between Wests Tigers and the Sea Eagles, Manly back Reuben Garrick was forced from the field early in the first half with a shoulder injury. He was later ruled out of the match, with fears it could be season-ending.

"He gets a scan tomorrow, but, it doesn't look great, to be fair," Manly coach Anthony Seibold said.

"Obviously you would have seen the replays, he's got his shoulder in an awkward position, he heard a crack, so it doesn't look great.

"I'd say so (that it could be season-ending); we just hope that it's not too serious that it then eats into the pre-season and the start of next season. So, yep, it doesn't look great, to be fair."

Do what I do - back the home team if they are underdogs at good odds, especially if the favourites form is scratchy. Tigers were $2.20, a good price given the respective sides recent form.
