This is a much better pack than the last time we played the Cowboys, in Townsville. We pretty much matched them there, and this time around, they don't have Taumalolo (probably). Taumalolo played for 55 mins and made 215m last time.

8. Sipley -> Paseka
9. Simpkin -> Tevaga
10. Aloiai -> Taukeiaho
15. GCKT -> 14. Simpkin

Simpkin wasn't great defensively in the trials. If Tevaga performs well defensively, I would definitely prefer a rotation of Tevaga/Simpkin over Simpkin/GCKT.

Probably only downgrade is Lawton to Waddell on the bench. Burbo was preferred as the left backrower in that last game too.

This line-up is basically the same as last year's, which realistically and ultimately, was uncompetitive with the best sides. To make it worse , IMO, we have been bolstered by a few aging players cast off from their previous clubs. As an example, the selection of Tevaga as run on dummy-half points to a problematic depth situation. The backs are top class but generally most of the back-ups in NSW Cup are not near to NRL standard, so hoping against hope we don't have injuries to a number of key players. One bright light - the emergence of Hopoate who during the trials played with more poise and physical maturity as compared with last season. Wish we had a few more local juniors like him.
Quite the bold statement there

Unfortunately Bozo has become very negative, I like the fella but honestly he's got to get over that Hasler isn't with us anymore, I don't come on here as often as I once did because I'm tired of all the whinging and negativity, once we used to have robust conversation about the team now all I seem to read is Spoonbold and similar crap, to me that's not supporting Manly it's nothing more than tearing Manly down and I'd rather not involve myself
The "ignore" function is great so you don't have to read his/their dribble!

I dunno mate I just don’t think the Broncos are as good as what they’re made out to be. Of course I’m one eyed Lolol…..if somehow our forwards played to their real potential our backs could carve up. To be honest mate there’s not one of the Broncos backs I’d swap for ours & apart from Carrigan & Hetherington I’m not interested in the rest.
Gosiewski?

Yes, he is a good man as I know him well from our adventures in outerspace.

They will be hereby called 'The Cowthings' ... not sure what I'm going to call 'The Dragqueens' though
I for one, will continue to call them the Girls. None of this woke leftie BS for me. It's denigrating to call them girls because if a girls NRL team played a mens NRL first grade team they would be beaten by 100 points, and that right there is the denigration...........Good Grief..............

Well said feathered friend I agree
Having said that The Game of Rugby league is not the Benchmark of How Females Square up Against Males
There are Females that dominate in other fields of life
No one is Greater Male or Female . They Both have their Great Traits

Quite the bold statement there

Hard to disagree with you, mate. Just hoping your assessment is as wrong as my own!

At least 100. But more likely the match would end early because half the team would be hospitalised before the match finished.

The performative offendedness is so played out at this point, even "regular" people are sick of it.

This place always amuses. Agreed our pack is not an all star pack but its not nearly as bad as some make out.

Two points

1) Paseka was great last year, cant believe people are still pushing a "needs to step up" "make or break year" nonsense. He is a lock and key player.

2. I loathe the 'not first grade standard' and 'wouldnt play first grade elsewhere' comments....very very ocassionally you may be right but 90% of the time people are talking about players who have played 50 or 100 plus NRL games or have played at 2 or 3 clubs.

Not every NRL player is a rep quality player, NRL teams need 17 players, 24+ games a year....reign in your expectations of what constitutes a 1st grader.
