I hope burbo has had a good off season of training, etc.

I mean if 'I' was a 2nd rower and a looked over and saw that Haumole was the other one - I'd be like "Holy crap I've got some work to do!"

If I was the opposition 2nd row marking Burbo and I looked over the other one and saw Haumole, I'd be thinking - Holy crap, I got lucky! 😄

Pedestrian pack including a few who would not be in 1st grade at any other club. No backline player on bench - a very risky gamble as fill-in back (B. Turbo) proven inadequate in that role. Backline top class. Cowboys look like a good mixture of very promising young guys and experience. IMO very dangerous game for Manly.

It's a worry that Navale and James are only considered bench players in NSW Cup.

We are very short in the forwards department. Almost comical. Paseka on his day could be anything but never ever consistent. A 33 year old.. and a few journeymen.

Pretty poor recruitment. All the money in 3-4 four players.

The only selection that was dissatisfying is Tevega starring at nine, need more from a nine than ball distribution and tackles.

The bench for me is good gives more then having Brown and Aloiai as they are similar to Jake and Tevega.

Sipley was disappointing in the trials but gives good impact with his ball running.

Bench 50/50
But we need the forwards to "lay the platform" as they say and I'm not confident they can.

At the risk of sounding too negative in only the 1st round, now that I see the reality of the bench, it doesn't strike me as a top 4 side.

Bulle seems our only real impact player. Sips can be on his day but this HAS to be his year to shine.

Maybe Waddell can be me that hard working forward every team needs.

Bulle seems our only real impact player. Sips can be on his day but this HAS to be his year to shine.

Maybe Waddell can be me that hard working forward every team needs.

To be fair out of the games he played last season he looked ok in the middle Waddell, if they can get 5 or 6 games out of him where he plays on par or above that will be good.

Sipley I don’t think worked on his weaknesses from what I seen in the trials, could have stripped a few kgs to be a bit more mobile which would help his defence, attacking wise he is good.
