Looks like both teams will be wearing black armbands on Saturday night.

Johnny Mayes:

If just two clubs means ‘multiple clubs’, then Ray Branighan and John O’Neill beat him to it.
I think you're right.
Mayes won three grand finals in a row with two clubs 73 Manly then 74 & 75 Easts.
But Branighan & O'Neill had done it with Souths 71 then Manly 72 & 73.

Yeah, I was thinking about the other big win at Brookie over the Chooks when Fittler was the coach, then got sacked pretty much the next day.
Memories. I had to look it up to see. That Fittler sacking announcing was in 2009 after Manly beat Roosters 44-12 in Rd 23 at the SFS. Fittler stayed in the job for another 3 games until the end of the season. In 2010 Roosters coach was Brian Smith.

Yep, torrential actually. Will be the final nail in Manly's 2025.
Could work in our favour tho, Teddy won't be able to pinball himself around the field like he usually does and the alphabet soup winger of there's will find hard doing his trick plays.

Although Brookie Oval is in top condition nowadays, after all the rain that's forecast plus two games played beforehand, by the time 1st grade plays on Saturday night the oval's condition may/will not be ideal.

Time for Manly's experienced halves to control the game. No reason they can't.
You mean except for all the evidence that suggests otherwise?

I found it hilarious watching NRL360 last night when somebody mentioned the Roosters were buying Cherry as a "game manager". It's like they haven't watched any of his games over the last decade-plus. Yes, he's experienced, but that doesn't mean he's automatically a "game manager". It's just not his thing. Never has been. Sure, he can kick long when we're on top, but he's more likely to do something stupid that will release the pressure on the opposition than he ever is to build pressure.

As for Brooksy, the only experience that poor bugger ever gained at the Tigers was learning how to lose.

Yeah, as you’ve all said, looks like it’ll be bucketing down. Unfortunately will push some of the hill away and some fans in general, but Saturday night maybe not, I hope not!

Expecting a very scrappy game, won’t be able to play to our usual style. Just NEED to grind out a win. Might be a case of 1 or 2 lucky moments will get either team home.

Yeah hopefully it doesn’t rain as much as they're predicting. Having said that, thank god the game isn’t being played at Allianz!! It’d be more like water polo!
