Well done. Had a feeling we'd deliver tonight. Just got to back it up next game.
We'll be 11th tonight and dropping like a stone. Wonder if we're still a results driven business because clearly Seibold isn't after today's media interview.
They were made to look terrible tho. It’s almost as though without Turbo we don’t try and score on every play and get into the grind.
Great win. Lehi was great. Broncos were terrible though.
There was a lot talk about them getting flogged in the pre season, then they come out and put 50 on the chooks, which probably gave the players a boost about the pre season work. I’m glad we didn’t end up with Madge, his BS may work with the hype of origin, but week in week out in club land he’d be hard to take.Mate I’m exposed to the Ponies weekly living in Brisbane through the missus and plenty of my mates are die hard long term members. None were confident of anything else but what transpired this evening. And they are good footy judges. Boys have said about them being physically wrecked and talk is the pre season was a disaster. Walsh being out has not helped, but other than he and Hubt, they were largely at full strength tonight. And even with them they hadn’t looked great. I was surprised both Haas and Carrigan played. Reeked of desperation to me. Arthur’s tried his best but was a bit exposed back there tonight. They are in real trouble. Guys in Brisbane trading on 23 reputations. Riki, Staggs, Cobbo, Reno even struggling. If Haas goes down they are royally f$&@ed.
Knights have won 3 out of last 4 games against us in Newcastle so that will be a test of how we are really travelling.A win is a win and much appreciated, but have to say I remain unconvinced... The broncos are just that terrible.
Need a win against better opposition to say we've turned a corner.
This is the part that concerns me. The refs have a huge influence over game outcomes. What a night! This is how we do it. And without Turbo. And cough better discipline. One ruck infringement.
Moreso, he should never have kept the curse of an assistant in Trent Barrett as his right hand man. TB takes failure with him wherever he goes !How cooked are the Broncos.
Madge is probably wishing he kept the NSW gig
To be fair I said “ toss a coin “ , I did , it was tails & that was Broncos 13+Some genius predicted 13+ Manly in the pre game thread.
wait...that was me!!!
So that's what the 'ge' stands for.
Great win.
Nothing will change so you posters be you, your thoughts are valid.... but I mean...
Pre game thread: "We're gunna lose, get yer money on the broncos, we suck, everything sucks" - post after post after post.
Then after putting fans through that all week, when Manly win do we get any version of a humble pie post? Nope.
At best it's a simply. "hey a win, good"
Then it's a deep breath and back into slagging the team's chances for the next 5-7 days.
Maybe Shakespeare put it best in Henry V, the St Crispin's day speech as I'm sure most of you will already know judging by the caliber of the posts, but for those, here is some of it:
That he which hath no stomach to this fight,
Let him depart; his passport shall be made
And crowns for convoy put into his purse:
We would not die in that man’s company
That fears his fellowship to die with us.
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:
And gentlemen in Manly fan land now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon this football day.
And so ye feckless jessies, get a caber up ye, you soft, lily-livered cowards.
If ye be not brave enough to fight, maybe be brave enough to stand in support of those that are,
and not cower in fear behind your grandma's skirts as you complain from afar when there's work to be done. Begone cowards and darken our door no more with your interminable wailing.
(Although I think the last bit is from Macbeth...or Macge'th)
To be fair I said “ toss a coin “ , I did , it was tails & that was Broncos 13+
You know , we play the Knights next , and very easily could get walloped.
Zero consistency
This was a highlight for me too, so clear that the squad remains closes and in good spirits despite the DCE departure ruccus. Of course a win makes everyone happy but on the flip side you simply don't win in that fashion unless the players are pretty tight and focussed.Contrast that to our boys last night, it’s hard to believe, the scenes after the game were better than good, it was great to see us get up for Jazz’s 150th, his put in since coming to the club and to see how happy he was after the game was again great, we should always value milestone games, the team song, even the chemistry during the presser, Seibs and Daly looked better than it has since you know and on Daly, have to be happy with that performance, even Seibs who I haven’t been overly happy with, gets the nod this week, team harmony looks to be going ok considering all things.
Madge is a big event coach, great with SOO and the Aust gig. But the longer the season goes the more exposed and redundant he looks. How cooked are the Broncos.
Madge is probably wishing he kept the NSW gig
Consistency is about attitudeThe inconsistency is a killer for we fans, but part of it is that the comp seriously is so close that a very small drop off can be the difference on a given day.
Meanwhile some unsung heroes were outstanding tonite - both wingers, and also the much maligned Waddell, and the 'slow old man' Brown - both played solidly for decent minutes against some young giants in the opposition.
I'll give some credit to Seibold too, he cops it after the losses so fair's fair!
Good assessment on Madge, watching his presser with Reynolds you could see the frustration on Reynolds face when Madge was talking. Don't think they'll sack him, that'll be to embarrassing for a big club like them. He's got a 3yr deal I think and the payout would be fairly substantial. There was a lot talk about them getting flogged in the pre season, then they come out and put 50 on the chooks, which probably gave the players a boost about the pre season work. I’m glad we didn’t end up with Madge, his BS may work with the hype of origin, but week in week out in club land he’d be hard to take.
Maybe he has physically cooked them, then doubled down with his BS to mentally fuk them, an unhappy group never works. They have the talent to be doing so much better, it’s amazing if the squads not happy just how bad things can get.
Contrast that to our boys last night, it’s hard to believe, the scenes after the game were better than good, it was great to see us get up for Jazz’s 150th, his put in since coming to the club and to see how happy he was after the game was again great, we should always value milestone games, the team song, even the chemistry during the presser, Seibs and Daly looked better than it has since you know and on Daly, have to be happy with that performance, even Seibs who I haven’t been overly happy with, gets the nod this week, team harmony looks to be going ok considering all things.
Its funny to say the acid test will actually be the next 3 or 4 games, it’s always the lower placed sides that we seem to trip up on, if we can role the drug cheats and pile on Dessy’s misery heading into the bye, those 6 points will be huge, then we go pretty well with a freshen up and hit the Tig’s and who knows, its a should win, but they play their brand and anything can happen, take last night. Anyway last night for us was great, it should bring plenty of positives going forward, the group looks happy and thats massive, DCE looks to have mentally turned the corner, let’s just hope we build off all that and in 4 to 6 weeks we are looking good off the back of our second bye, fresh to have a crack at the purple scum in Mexico.
Yes Bozo!Consistency is about attitude
White line fever is where is at.
Consequence is from within
Coaches manage the emotions and expectations of these champions and they rarely feature on highlight reels
Just the one blemish when he pulled out of a catch and kneed it, but apart from that he was awsome last night.I thought Talau had a great game last night, they put kick pressure on him constantly and he was cool, calm and collected every time.

Sorry James, that was uncalled for! Just something in the style of your post made me loco for a secondYes Bozo!
