Manly coach Des Hasler has declared the Sea Eagles' intention to test Darren Lockyer's mental and physical state should the Brisbane star ignore the pain of a fractured cheekbone to play in Friday's preliminary final.

Lockyer's team mates are the ones who will be most affected mentally as they will be afraid to crowd him in case they smash his face again.

Its a win, win for Manly as I see it.
1) If he is there, the free flow of the Broncos is affected by their protective instincts towards Lockyer
2) If he is not there, the role that he plays will be dispersed among the Broncos making it a less cohesive effort

It will affect Lockyer's running game a lot. He would be **** scared to take on the line. After the injury on Saturday night, he hid behind everyone in defense and did not want to be involved unless he had to.
