Manly Sea Eagles tipped to be 2017 premiers

I am now tipping this. I think I tipped it already in preseason but this time I believe it.
We have plenty of attributes and plenty of improvement still to come.
Just thought I'd mention it.
And if it happens it will be close to our best ever!
I put $50 on Manly to be Premiers each year in February - hoping to get a return this year :inlove:

Although this year my $5 Quinella of Manly v Raiders looks gone 🙁

Post of the Year !!!

You know what, if it actually happened it would undoubtably be the greatest ever Grand Final win.

Big call I know, but in none of the other years we've won in we're we ever tipped to be right down the bottom before kick off.

I think you are dreaming mate, but nothing like dreams is there!

You know what, i agree with you and not entirely because i'm a manly fan, but because this genuinely is a brilliant side.

Taupau, Lawrence, Jake Trbojevic, AFB, Perrett, Lane, Sironen... utter power, good speed (for forwards), outstanding offloads and skill.

If Kelly's confidence returns he and Walker, Uate, Wright (who was awesome last week), Tom Trbojevic, Koroisau, Green and DCE will continue to be the nrl's best backline filled with rep quality footballers (Koroisau, Turbo, Walker, Uate, DCE) and experienced calm heads (Green, DCE, Uate).

The thing that can hurt us, as always, is injuries and especially seeing we are short in some positions depth-wise. We've got to keep developing our mental toughness which is growing at a rapid pace (ugly, tough wins arising) and make sure we get back to consistency as well as eliminating complacency from our game (likely due to inexperience). Will desperately need to keep Wright fit so we can goal kick, which is the only thing costing us at this stage

If not this year the next few will almost certainly see a premiership arrive as the squad continues to develop

Will be every chance if can keep same blokes on the paddock, that's going to be the big thing, a few niggles in recent weeks has seen the structure messed with a little bit. Any more and could be some strife. If you are going to have that drop / disruption, then now is the best time for it, very hard to stay at peak right through, and those next drop players getting a sniff wanting to play out of their skin, putting that training into action in a game etc. so if they do get pulled up in finals they are not out of their depth. A good kick up the butt to have the desire to get back to peak when it counts most. Quality opposition ahead in the coming weeks, so will be a good measuring stick and preparation for the home straight.

I remember my 1st wet dream. I'm thinking it might be a bit like that.

I don't share your optimism based on the embryonic mental development of the squad...however, the Tigers in 2005 would be the closest comparison I can muster...that premiership came from nowhere and we would need something similar if we are to pull it off.

My heart says YEAH BABY!!!

......but my head unfortunately doesn't agree..

We will give it a shake, but I get the feeling that it'll be a Purple Scum premiership, "rising from the bitter ashes of last year's defeat", with the approval and endorsement of both the NRL and Channel Nein..

Will come down to discipline. We have the speed and structure to roll off tackles and reduce the penalty counts, and that will make a massive inference with DCE and Green kicking us into strong zones.

Think top 4 would be a great result for us this year. Just a second rower short of a premiership IMO. In saying that, anything is possible and if the spine can keep up the very good form, we have every chance. Api has been huge this year so hopefully he's only out for a week..

I was referring only to the Sea Eagles, and their 8 victories to date.

Short on one classy second rower, one good centre and winger, let's see how Parker goes this week, that's a start
