Manly need THAT Leader

Its simple... Jake T! Not now but give it a couple of years and he will be perfect. He is obviously going to captain Manly sometime in the near future full time (Already vice captain), and I also see him at higher honours as Australia skipper and NSW skipper. He is perfect, vocal player that isnt afraid to give a mate a spray for a bad play, leads with his actions especially in his defence and he is a junior from the area, someone the people respect and above all else he is a top bloke, nice and comes from a great family!

Jake is a Champion who is already closing in on Legend status at Manly....but has that nice bloke going on.
Already a leader with the effort upon effort plays, but not that mongrel bas**** who has that extra extra venom, barking at his troops with a genuine hate for the opposition....lifting team mates who have drifted out of the game with no slacking off.

You're right @maxta we do need a 'BK' type leader. During some games, particularly towards the end of the season, I'd be watching the team grouped behind the goalposts with heads down after the opposition was kicking yet another goal. I'd be thinking 'Cherry, why aren't you barking at them or putting a rocket up them? For ***'s sake fire them up!'

DCE is excellent with the media and indeed with the refs but its just not in his nature to fire up the players on the field. Imo the only current player who has the passion and ticker to do the firing up is Jake Turbo.

Instead of vice captain, why can't Jake be co-captain and he can handle the on-field leadership and Cherry does the off-field stuff. A win-win situation 😀
