Any of our top 17 play 3 minutes , jogging on our 25 line whilst the opposition run through.

The rest do their bit, lose 3 straight and we are on the 4.30pm Qantas flight home on day 1!

Seriously , who gives a ****!!!

We play 1 last game Sunday last pool game vs dragons at 950 so we then fly home after that.

Can't wait...love the 9's weekend.
Used to go to the old 7's also, with Cliffy, Kosef, Tozza Hill just a few big names who made it through ok.
I get the arguments on injury, as there is NO doubt greater chance with the Extra high impact and intensity....cool off ....do it again...
There WILL be players injured at 9's, trial games and also pre season training, but again - the chances under this format, are increased.
Still love the format and will be cheering Manly on 100%, in a room fool of drunken Bronco supporters.....looking forward to see the new players and youngsters fighting for a place as this is the official first opportunity for players to shine.

Of the 6 teams who played in the Nines GF's since it started in 2014 - 3 went on to win an NRL premiership. (And Parra shouldn't really be included because they cheated).

Would appear it does actually mean something - whether it's squad depth, new talent etc etc....

I would still prefer to see it as a separate entity ... I'd follow both

I agree. I hate the injury concern. Really puts a dampener on the comp.

I would love to see it more as a u20's setup. Gives all the younger guys an audition on a big stage. Gives clubs a look at other clubs juniors etc. Injuries then aren't a huge concern so supporters can appreciate it more.

They could throw in some ex players for interest....

That I could handle, like the Big Bash, a bunch of hasbeens, some internationals and a few kids making their way!!

But most of the established stars are protected.
