The logic is simple. There was never a year zero. The first century A.D. began on 1 January 0001A.D.. [This was one day after the last day in 0001B.C.]. So naturally, exactly 100 years later, the second century began on 1 January 0101 A.D., etc

So Brisbane's 2000 premiership was last century. And their only premiership this century is in 2006!

We are also the most successful team since the introduction of Limited Tackle footy in 1967 with 8 premierships. I think the closest to us are Canterbury and the Broncos with 6 (if you count the Broncos winning Super League).

Based on premierships you are 100% correct. I did some sums last night ( was thinking of starting a similar thread). Based on the regular season I unfortunately calculated us as 5th..... The early years (northern eagles) hurt us badly in the rankings. My system was crude but still took 45 minutes

I dropped my wife at Sydney airport and she caught a plane to Melbourne while I drove there. I aged less than her and not just because of my superb driving skills. Time actually slowed down for me compared to her. Scientific fact.

Just because things sometimes seem to make no sense, doesn't make them any less true.

The 21st century DID start on 1 January 2001, which was after Brisbane won the 2000 grand final. Fact.

Despite the massive celebrations, 1 January 2000 was the start of the noughties (and not part of the 1990's), but not the start of a new century. Educating the masses is a task no politician wanted to confront.

There's a semantic issue, namely - while the "1990s" comprises the years 1990 to 1999, the "199th decade" spans 1991 to 2000.

Either way Manly is by far the best club!

1901 was the first year of the 20th century and so on and so forth. It's always been thus.
