Manly Front rowers 2018

No Lawrence or Myles in 2018.
Who will start with Kapow in the front row and who will be on the bench ?
I think Sipley has size and aggro to bend the line, but a concern he wasn’t able to crack a regular spot at Warriors.
Who will be the Manly Rollers to lay that vital platform in 2018 ??

I wouldn't worry too much that he couldn't crack the Warriors. They are coached by the same person who thought Matai wasn't good enough for the kiwis - deadset the worst coach I've seen at NRL level.

List the options then take your pick

Lussick, AFB, Perrett, Tanginoa, Sipley, Paseka, ???

Personally I'd give Lussick first go providing his off season is one of effort and merit. He was pretty ordinary this year compared to last season, so not sure why that was. I do think he is better starting than coming off the bench - he likes that softening up period and I feel like he gets too antsy on the bench and is then prone to brain snaps when he does get on. He's the most experienced out of the candidates so that has to count for something. Tanginoa could be an option if he shows something in training/trials

Unless Perrett or AFB improve their speed and stamina immensely over the offseason there is only one choice and that is Lussick, hopefully last 10 games of 2016 Lussick.

Add to that he is far superior starting than his bench efforts, as C&C said.

I have faith that Lussick will be back on form this year, he had a very stop start season last year, I also think AFB and Perrett will continue their development whilst I'm excited about Sipley and Paseka

I'm pretty happy with our Front Row stocks tbh

Edge back row is where we need some more quality

Probably always in the minority in still suggesting that Shaun Lane has got much to offer Manly if he can manage to fully focus and consistently produce his best ability and form . Hopefully with a committed off season preparation , he can hit the ground running and play well and strongly in 2018 . The 20 "s Olakauatu will not need too much more improvement and experience to make his mark at a higher and more demanding level in Manly colours , definitely a top liner in the making , all things being normal .

Last year he was injured early in preseason and opted for wrist surgery ,missing the first 6 games .And then early on in season injured his elbow missing more games.I think he started on the back foot last year and was never probably fully fit.
Tipping a massive year for him again if he can stay fit all pre season.

We need quality in both front and back row.
I'd buy Ray Stone the 13 from Eels NYC team who seems like a potential superstar, can cover 13 and prop.
Need a quality back rower. Joel Thompson would be perfect but seems that deal has petered off...

Prop: who are the options? Villame Kikau from penrith? Ideal scenario would be going hard for klemmer even if we had to pay overs... not sure why we wouldnt go for napa as he's on the outer?

Suasao sue could be a good option for both positions

What @robbiea said, hampered with injury and never really caught up.
I'd keep AFB and Perrett on the bench but if they have to start at times due to injury that won't harm their development.
Bench stocks reinforced by Sipley, Tanginoa and Paseka.
Enough? Never enough!

I wouldn't start Lussick until he stops being a loose dickhead on the field. His behaviour too commonly leads to stupid penalties and so on and would have us defending our line more than we should be.

We need someone who can rip and do the work without giving away much. They don't have to be world class, just willing to get their hands dirty.
