In 6 days time we will be playing out first home final at Brookie in 11 years. We started off this season with the ‘experts’ picking us to get our first wooden spoon. Oh how we have proven them wrong!
With one of the (if not THE) youngest sides in the NRL, long injuries early on in the year to two of our most instrumental players in Tom Trbojevic and Daly Cherry-Evans, yet we were able to safely secure ourselves a finals spot and our home semi at Brookie.
In the past couple of weeks, our injury concerns have re-surfaced which has seemed to shadow our achievements this season, and the week that lies ahead.
FINALS FOOTY GUYS! We are back baby! This is the most exciting time of year, especially for our younger players experiencing it for the first time. This team had made us so proud already under the coaching of Des and his incredible staff, and whatever happens for the rest of the season will not change that.
However, a home ground advantage at Brookie is MASSIVE, even with the injuries we have. That’s why we need YOU! Going to BankWest for the first time on Friday night made it clear how much the Parra fans are able to get behind their team and lift them...so let’s do the same for Brookie!
Playing another Sydney team means there will be a lot of opposition fans also heading to Brookie - but I want to see it as a sea of Maroon and White!
Don’t let injuries dampen your spirits, and stop writing this season off already. Have faith in what we can do, because I know in front of a huge Brookie crowd, we will give it a real good go. Anyways, despite the result, why not celebrate this great season we have had that will set us up SO well for 2020 and years to come.
