Roy masters has an interesting article in today's SMH (linked below)

He looks at 2 key defensive stats;

1) How many tries conceded from penalties (next set of 6)
2) How many tries conceded from line goal dropouts (next set of 6)

I extracted the stats he quotes and shows that Melbourne and Manly are close 1 & 2 and 3-6 are far behind. Below I have tabled the stats and given a percentage (% of sets where tries conceded , lowest the best obviously)

Hope this characteristic wins the title for Manly! Go boys!

Glad to see that this stat showed the characteristic that brought manly home last night.....our ability to defend our goal line was the key.

Now to next week to take on the team that currently defends there goal line the best.

One thing I would like to see is better grubber kicking near their goal forcing dropouts......did we
even get a dropout last night?
