Manly have suffered another setback on the injury front after half Jake Arthur suffered a stress fracture in his foot that is expected to sideline him for up to three months.
The injury blow comes at the worst possible time for Manly and Arthur given he would have provided cover for Daly Cherry-Evans during the State of Origin period.
Cherry-Evans, the captain of the Queensland team, is expected to be rested at some stage over the Origin period as Manly look to ensure their skipper is fit and firing for the run in to the finals.
That would have opened the door for Arthur to get an opportunity but he is now set to be sidelined for the Origin period.
