LyalI Gorman

Lyall Gorman was brought in late last year amidst the backdrop of front office politics, the salary cap investigations and a bruised and battered club reputation. He has literally been thrown into the deep end. Throughout this time he has handled everything with professionalism by gaining the reigns and steering our club towards stability. He has fronted the media exceptionally well and is doing his best to expand our corporate networks, sponsorship, profile and branding. He is also engaging with the grass roots support base through various initiatives , ie visiting schools, junior clubs, charities and overall communication with the fan base via multiple digital media platforms.

IMO he is making all the right moves to secure the long term future of our club. Credit goes to Penn for letting him take the reigns .

At the moment I feel that we have strong leadership at the club and the importance of this should never be understated.

He seems to be doing a good job. Certainly the club's engagement with fans and the community has improved.
Perhaps he can initiate an 'Ask Lyle' Q&A on this site?
My question would be: "How often did you get beaten up at school over your naff christian name?"

Early days but everywhere this bloke goes he seems to have success.
What for Paul Kent to bag us at the first chance he seems to have a running battle with Gorman over the years.

As the old saying goes , having a proper functioning and orderly front office goes a long way to having a proper functioning and successful club .

I'm a big fan of Bozo and respect everything he has done for our club but Gorman is probably finding it much easier to do his job without him around.

Some of our other CEO's were probably quite competent as well but were consistently undermined in their role.

The thing is he came into role at the sharks in tumultuous times with the ASADA investigations and coming off a wooden spoon. He has left them in a very good position. So he's got a great track record.

It is early days for Gorman and so far we are seeing a difference in relation to communicating with the fans.

The real tests are ahead especially the immediate challenge we face over potential salary cap sanctions and how the club reacts to this, about what will finally happen in relation to Brookvale oval? and we all know that time is running out for this to be resolved!, our small sponsorship pool that really needs to be expanded, our falling membership numbers, the whole membership packages need overhauling. Building fences with the Football club so that we can finally have a united club again. This is not going to be an easy task for him he has the benefit of being an outsider so hopefully, the politics that has besieged our club won't be an issue for him.

The positive is that we have a strong young team and lots of depth coming through. This could be a golden age for our club and how we manage things at board level will determine this in a big way.

I think we fans and members just want an end to the dysfunction and have some stability!!

I really hope he is successful!!

Remember it’s Manly, so this is a very big ask!

But gee wouldn’t it be good to see, and even better fences mended with the Football Club.

I guess we can live in hope!
