I'm all for the provocation defence clon, BUT, in the Lowe incident it was physical provocation with a physical response. All fair. Kill him as far as I care.
In the AFL situation it was verbal provocation with a physical response, not fair. You have no right to physically attack someone unless they physically attack you first. If you can't respond in the manner in which you were attacked & resort to an over-response, you deserve having the book chucked at you. The bloke with the tatts is a boofhead who couldn't match the guy he was up against, he should therefore be the one to lose out.
