Defending a premiership is never easy, and with Des Hasler departing the Sea Eagles after the 2012 season, it could prove to be another unwanted distraction for the club.
They have retained pretty much the same roster, which will be very beneficial, particularly for young halves Kieran Foran and Daly Cherry-Evans, who will only grow as footballers after a premiership and international football.
The big in: Having not bought a new player to Brookvale as yet, it’s impossible to name one for the Sea Eagles.
The big out: Will Hopoate – While he is only 19-years-old and in his full rookie season in the NRL, the NSW State of Origin representative will be extremely hard to replace on the Northern Beaches during his time away from the game and also when he returns to it
The young gun: Michael McDougall – A Manly junior who returned this season after time with the NSW Waratahs, McDougall impressed in this year’s NYC season and during stints in the NSW Cup. He will be out to take either Michael Robertson or Will Hopoate’s spot in the backline.
The big question: Will Des Hasler be able to rally his troops despite departing to the Bulldogs?
The veteran: Jamie Lyon – With representative footy now out of his mind, Lyon has been able to focus solely on his club football, and has produced career best form in the past few years.
The wild card: Michael Oldfield – Likely to replace Hopoate and/or Robertson on the wing, Oldfield has shown class and skills in his limited first grade opportunities. He has the pace to trouble any side, and is as good a finisher as any winger in the business.
The top squad: B Stewart, Oldfield, Lyon, Matai, D Williams, Foran, Cherry-Evans, Galuvao, Ballin, King, Watmough, T Williams, G Stewart: Buhrer, Mauro, Rose, Lussick
Ins: None
Outs: Will Hopoate, Shane Rodney, Michael Robertson

No mentiom of Ben Farrar and no Kite, is he off to the UK?
Sorry Dan tried to post it through the articles section but I can't get it to work.
